What: Balfolk is a folk dance and music movement from Europe that gives new life to traditional dances. A ‘Bal Folk’ is a social dance event that brings people of all ages and walks of life together through group and partner dances to have fun and connect. It’s a friendly, social and energising space.
Awesome event at venue I’d not been to before here in Wellington, Whiskey and Wood on Cambridge Terrace. Dave Flynn on tour, playing some traditional Irish music and his own compositions with a little help from his friends aka The NZ String Quartet. Fiddle and Box player, Em Griffiths and Duncan Davidson particularly outstanding.
